PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University cross country athlete Kaitlyn Sheppard has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Sheppard was honored after placing third in the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Nov. 1.

The junior from Cheltenham, England finished the highest amongst all Braves in the women's 6K race, helping the Braves win their second MVC Championship in three years. Sheppard set a new personal best in the race, lowering her time to 20:27.2 to become fifth-fastest performer in program history. Sheppard's third place finish earned her an All-MVC award for her finish inside the top 10. 

Sheppard's strong performance and academic success have earned him this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
