Peoria Ill. - The Bradley Braves crushed the St. Francis Saints 70-32 in their home opener on Thursday.
Soleil Barnes had a solid debut, leading the team with 15 points, five assists, and four steals without a single turnover. The team collected 43 boards with Mariam Coulibaly leading the way with seven rebounds. The Braves locked down the Saints on the defensive side, forcing them to go 11-49 in field goal attempts and 1-16 from beyond the arc.
Bradley never trailed St. Francis. After exchanging early field goals, the Braves pulled away with an eight-point run to give them an early 10-2 lead. Bradley maintained control for the rest of the game, as they had a 21-12 lead at halftime and then scored 49 points in the second half.
