PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Men's Basketball took down UIC on Wednesday night with a final score of 85-73.
The Braves led the Flames at halftime 40-28. At the midway point of the first half, the Braves went on a 16-0 run to take the lead over UIC. Bradley had 21 rebounds in the half and seven on the offensive glass. They also had three steals and four blocks in the half.
Duke Deen led the way for Bradley with nine points, all three-pointers. Darius Hannah tallied eight points with two rebounds. Malevy Leons recorded six points and three blocks, while Christian Davis collected seven points and five rebounds.

"I liked our first half," head coach Brian Wardle said. "We scored the ball at a pretty high clip. We wanted to go inside against their switching [and] I thought we did a pretty good job of that."

Bradley defeated UIC by a final score of 85-73. They finished with 36 rebounds, eight steals and six blocks. The Braves had 30 points in the paint after they shot 49.1% from the field. They went 8-for-21 from the three-point line and 25-for-27 from the free throw line.

"[I have to] do my job and play my role," Hannah said. "I just took advantage of a lot of their switching so they put a lot of guys on me and I took advantage of that."

Hannah tied a career-high in points with 19 in the game. The senior was 7-for-9 from the field with eight rebounds. Leons recorded 20 points with a career-high five blocks. He also had five rebounds and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line. Deen collected 14 points, three rebounds and four assists.
Every player had points in Wednesday's win. Connor Hickman tallied 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Davis was close to a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds. Ahmet Jonovic had six points in four minutes off the bench.

"Earlier in the season, we struggled a bit with the free throws and we've been taking them pretty serious," Hannah said. "[We've been getting] extra reps to make sure we've been taking our time."

Looking Ahead
The Braves go back on the road on Sunday to play Northern Iowa at 1 PM. They travel southwest to play Missouri State on Feb. 21 at 7 PM. Bradley comes back home on Feb. 24 to play Illinois State at 7 PM.
