LAS VEGAS, NV– The Braves commenced the 2024 season in Las Vegas as they participated in the UNLV Desert Classic.
Game 1
The Braves fall 5-0 to UCSB in their first game of the tournament.
Sydney Kennedy got the nod in the circle for the Braves, as she made her Bradley debut recording 5.2 IP with 3 strikeouts.
Offensively, the Braves threatened in the sixth inning starting with a single by Tori Meyer, then followed by back-to-back walks for Austin Comstock and Bailey Sample.
Game 2
The Braves were back in action against the hosting team, UNLV. UNLV took the second game by a score of 9-1.
Camryn Schaller started the game for the Braves, recording 3.0 IP and allowing 4 earned runs while compiling 3 strikeouts. Abbott Badgley also made her way in the circle appearing in 1.1 innings.
The Braves came out firing in the first inning as Lauren DeRolf scored on an Ashley Breeding single and a throwing error committed by UNLV.
Bailey Sample showed off her speed as she recorded 2 stolen bases on the afternoon.
Coming Up…
The Braves will be back in action for the remainder of the Desert Classic on Feb. 17th. They will play Iowa State at 2 pm, followed by another matchup with UNLV at 8 pm.
