VALPARAISO, Ind.– In a 20-inning doubleheader, the Braves split with the Beacons to win their second series of the season.
Game 1
In a back-and-forth battle, the Braves were able to break the 0-0 tie in the top of the 10th inning.
Sydney Kennedy hit her way into a fielder's choice, which started the rally for the Braves. Kierston McCoy and Macey Moore followed suit with back-to-back walks to set the table for Tori Meyer.
Meyer hit a bases-clearing double to get Bradley on the board late in the game.
Sydney Kennedy pitched a one-hitter in 10 innings pitched, while allowing 0 earned runs and recording 9 strikeouts. Kennedy had a no-hitter going into the top of the 9th inning for the Braves.
Game 2
Bailey Sample prompted an early 1-1 tie for the Braves as she hit a solo shot in the top of the 3rd inning.
Bradley found themselves down again after the 5th inning, but they were able to come back in the 7th inning from a sacrifice fly by Ashley Breeding to score Angela Cirone.
The Braves and the Beacons then again found themselves in extra innings; this time the Beacons were able to take the win on an unearned run in the bottom of the 10th.
