PEORIA, Ill. – The Missouri Valley Conference has released the 2023-24 Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Teams and Connor Hickman was named to the First Team.
Hickman, a junior from Bloomington, Indiana, holds a 3.64 GPA as a Management/Leadership major. He is one out of six players named to the first team and one of two juniors named.
Going into Arch Madness, Hickman is tied for second in points on the team with 14.1 per game. He is also second in three-point percentage, fourth in rebounds and second in assists with 25 games started this season. Hickman recorded six 20-point games this season with 877 total minutes played.
The criteria for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team voting parallels the CSC (College Sports Communicators) standards for Academic All-America nominations. Student-Athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination either as undergraduates or graduate students. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
