Box Score PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley Braves Baseball team was defeated by Eastern Illinois, 14-9.
The Braves struck first with a home run from Senior
Logan Delgado in the top of the second. They entered the top of the third trailing by one.
Sophomore
Beau Durbin singled to score one, tying the game at two. Later on that inning, Junior
Tyrese Johnson and Freshman
Isaac Sobieszczyk had back-to-back walks, giving the Braves a 4-2 lead.
As the Braves entered the fourth inning, they were down 9-4. Johnson and Sobieszczyk struck again, hitting back-to-back singles to cut the Panthers lead to two.
In the eighth inning, Delgado hit a sacrifice fly to score Durbin. Later that inning, Junior
Timmy O'Brien scored on a wild pitch, making it a 13-9 game.
Durbin led the team with four hits, with O'Brien and Sobieszczyk the only other Braves with multi-hit games. The Braves were barely outhit at 14-12. As a team, Bradley had seven walks, all recorded by a different player. Johnson led the team with three RBI, he also recorded a double, the only extra-base hit for the Braves besides Delgado's home run.
