PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley Braves Baseball team was defeated by the Belmont Bruins after 10 innings, 6-5.
The offense of the Braves was silent the first seven innings, with the only offense from the Bruins in that span coming from two home runs in the fourth inning and a RBI single in the seventh.
Trailing 4-0 entering the top of the eighth, the Bradley offense came alive. Sophomore
Beau Durbin hit a two run home run to right field, cutting the lead in half. Later on that inning, Junior
Michael Mylott hit a three run blast to left, putting the Braves up by one, their first lead of the afternoon.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Belmont hit an RBI single to tie the game at five. The game was forced to extras, with the Bruins hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to earn Belmont the victory.
Mylott was the only Brave with multiple hits, earning two. As a team, the Braves had six walks, with Junior
Ryan Taylor recording two.
Junior
Travis Lutz pitched the first 6.2 innings for the Braves, collecting nine strikeouts.
