PEORIA, Ill. – Get to know more about Bradley Tennis player Andra Sirbu.
Sirbu although from Romania has lived her entire life in Dubai.
Sirbu a freshman this season has more than lived up to her expectations coming into this season as she put up a 13-7 record and 6-2 in MVC play for singles which led her to be on the Missouri Valley Second Team All-Conference for flight 4.

Head Coach Matt Tyler praised Sirbu as such a major component to the teams success this season.
"She as a freshman has had an amazing first year she is a competitor through and through and fights as hard as anyone on our team to get wins and obviously her record reflects that," said Head Coach Matt Tyler.
Crediting her dad for having her fall in love with the sport and pushing her when she was young.
"My dad just bringing up tennis he coached me from a very young age and just from there the passion grew going to tournaments,"
Living in Dubai her entire life and wanted to take the next step after juniors and coach Tyler and Bradley offered the opportunity which she took.
"I'm from Romania but I've lived all my life born and raised in Dubai, just getting the opportunity to come to America to play college tennis was a huge opportunity for me and Peoria offered this to me so it was something I had to take and I'm really enjoying it so far,"
In recent years Dubai has upgraded its sports facilities and sports as a nation in order to bring more sports to the region.
"I'd say it's not a place where sports aren't a big thing there yet soon it will be. I'm hoping more people will come out and people will play more sports,"
Even though Sirbu is just a freshman the bond she feels with her teammates is what makes Bradley Tennis special.
"I think spending time with my teammates and just having them there support and just being out on the courts with them and the quality time that's spent together,"
When asked what she wants to do after college she responded with an answer that would surprise nobody who knows the All-Conference tennis player.
"Hopefully a tennis player in the future,"
