PEORIA, Ill -- The Bradley Braves Baseball team was defeated by the Southern Illinois Salukis, 12-6.

The Braves started hot, with the second batter of the game, Sophomore Beau Durbin, doubling to score one. Junior Michael Mylott singled later on that inning to score Bradley's second run.

In the third inning, Mylott hit another RBI single. Junior Tyrese Johnson hit an RBI single of his own.

In the fifth inning, Junior Timmy O'Brien kept the train rolling, hitting an RBI single to give the Braves a 5-0 lead. 

Things took a turn for the Salukis, as they scored one in the bottom of the fifth, two in the sixth, five runs to take the lead in the seventh, followed by four insurance runs in the eighth inning.

O'Brien hit another RBI single in the top of the ninth, but the Braves were not able to make up for any more of the damage.

Durbin had three hits, as Senior Ryan Vogel, O'Brien and Mylott all had two. All three of Durbins hits were doubles. The only other extra-base hit for the Braves came from Vogel, who recorded a double. O'Brien and Mylott both had two RBI. Freshman Isaac Sobieszczyk, Vogel and Durbin each recorded one walk.

Redshirt-Sophomore Noah Edders threw for six frames, fanning five batters.
