Bradley Soccer sets program high mark for summer soccer assignments

Peoria, IL - Bradley Soccer sets the program's high mark for summer soccer assignments with 22 members of the 2024 roster playing in various summer leagues prior to the 2024 college season. 

Twenty-two members of the 2024 Bradley Braves men's soccer team have landed places to play over the summer, which is the highest mark the program has ever seen. 

16 Braves are currently playing in the United State Soccer Legaue 2 or "USL2". Hometown team Peoria City has five current Braves on their roster with Charlie Dickerson, Claudel Ngongang, DJ KoulaiJoao Saraiva, and Elias Benitez Saiz. Other USL2 players include Andrew Sanchez, Ian Ferguson, Ivan ReyesKevin MejiasJared Sinnaeve, Alex Nicastro, Austin Waite, Alex Grow, Nathaniel Isom, and Yohance Douglas with some of them earning national recognition. Braves in others leagues (Midwest Premier League and National Premier Soccer League) include Dante Carraro, Cohen MusschootMitch Coughlon, Francesco Pettinaroli, Ethan Beauman-Ansah, Caden Frank, and Emilio Madrigal.

Highlights to this point in the summer include,
  • With Charlie Dickerson being named captain at Peoria City, they are currently tied for 2nd place in the Heartland Division of the USL2 with the best goal differential in the league.
  • Joao Saraiva's hat trick against Sueño FC (all goals in 20 minutes)
  • DJ Koulai earning starts at striker in all but two matches this season
  • Kevin Mejias's club Ocean City sits in first place of their division after a win against West Chester FC
  • Alex Grow has made three starts in goal for Bavarian United SC, earning his first win against Minneapolis City SC
  • Ian Ferguson has made three starts in six games for Sueño FC
  • Mitch Coughlon has been named in the starting lineup in every match for Junction City, scored on May 31st against St. Louis Stars
Bradley will be back in action this fall when the 2024 season begins. BU will be lead by first year head coach Tim Regan, who was a former all-conference player and all-American at Bradley. In 2023, Bradley was the fifth youngest team in division-one men's soccer and in 2024 returns over 90% of last year's production that lead them to their third best start in program history.
