Matchup History
Bradley faces St. Thomas to begin the CEFCU Invitational Friday night. St. Thomas finished last season in the Summit League with a 3-13 record, missing the Summit League Championships. The only previous occasion these two programs met was on September 17, 2022, when the Braves won the match, 3-2.
To continue the weekend, the Braves will take on Southern Indiana. The Screaming Eagles went 10-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference to clinch a berth in the OVC Championship, but came up short in the semi-finals, losing in three sets to Eastern Illinois. The Braves defeated Southern Illinois in five sets on September 9th, 2023, in their only matchup against each other thus far.
Bradley will end the CEFCU Invitational on Sunday against the DePaul Blue Demons. DePaul ended the 2023 season with a 9-9 record and made it to the semifinals in the Big East before falling to Creighton in three sets. After being invited to the NIVC, Drake eliminated the Blue Demons in the round of 16. The Braves have won 14 of 27 matches against DePaul, but lost their most recent match on August 28, 2021, in three sets.
Bradley Notes
Alicia Williams will embark on her third season with the Braves' with two new faces to her coaching staff. The Braves' add Will McCall, who comes from University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he served as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. In addition, a familiar face to Bradley Volleyball in Karagan Coggin joins the staff. Coggin played five years at Bradley and is the all-time sets played leader. In 2021, she was named to the First-Team MVC with a career high 308 kills and a .308 hitting percentage. They look to join Williams and fellow Assistant Coach Hope Werch, who are in their third season together on the bench.
The Braves roster will be welcoming 10 new faces, including three freshmen and seven transfer students. Coming off of a 9-22 season in 2023-24, the Braves will also be returning Sophomore Corris Brown, who was second on the team in assists and assists per set, with 234 and 4.03 respectively. Sophomore Tendai Titley had the second most kills per set in her first year with the Braves, averaging 2.34. Senior Silan Demirkol is entering her second season with the Braves. Last season, she had the fourth most digs with 172.
