Match Recap
Bradley defeated Purdue Fort Wayne with a late goal, securing a 1-0 victory. The lone goal of the game came from BU sophomore Mitch Coughlon in the 87th minute, marking his third goal of the season and his third in the last two games.
Throughout the majority of the game, the Mastodons held the advantage in several statistical categories, including shots and corner kicks. PFW registered a total of 12 shots, with six on target, compared to the Braves' six shots, only two of which were on goal. Despite their shooting advantage, PFW struggled to convert their opportunities, with BU goalkeeper Alex Grow making a crucial six saves to keep the opposition scoreless.
The Mastodons also outperformed the Braves in generating corner kicks, earning eight compared to BU's single corner. However, the high number of fouls committed by both teams—Purdue Fort Wayne (22) and Bradley (19)—played a significant role in disrupting the flow of play. With the shutout, the Braves secured their third clean sheet of the season, with Alex Grow recording his first shutout of the 2024 season. Bradley has not conceded a goal at home through three games.
