PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University volleyball player Silan Demirkol has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Demirkol was honored after being named to the all-tournament team in this past weekend's Bradley Classic.

Demirkol helped the Braves go 2-1 in the three-team event, including two wins against Eastern Illinois. Demirkol tallied 41 kills and 36 digs across 14 sets played, including a season-high 15-kill effort against South Dakota State. Demirkol notched a kill-dig double-double in each match and now has four kill-dig double-doubles in nine matches this season. The senior from Istanbul, Turkey also tallied three block assists in a four-set match against SDS.

Demirkol's strong weekend and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
