Braves Staying Hot
This season, junior
Mitch Coughlon has scored seven goals, including six goals in the Braves' last nine games. Coughlon's seven goals are the most by a Brave in a single season since nine were notched in 2019. Coughlon's seven goals land him in fourth place across the Missouri Valley Conference this season. Four of the seven goals come in home matches; his latest goal comes off a penalty kick against Western Michigan.
Senior
Drew Berry has played every second in net for the Braves, with the Valley's second-best saves per game at 5.27 and the most total saves in the nation with 79. In the Valley, Berry doesn't just have the lead in total saves, but is 29 ahead of the pack.
Sophomore
Anel Kafedzic recorded his first goal of the season against Western Michigan, following that up with a goal against Evansville to force the draw. Kafedzic becomes the sixth Brave to score a pair or more of goals. Kafedzic scored one goal for Lindenwood last season. The transfer has played in all 15 games this season for the Braves, starting in all but two. He's played in 1,046 minutes, the second most for both newcomers and defensemen.
The Five Farewells
Five Braves will be honored for Senior Day pregame.
Drew Berry hasn't missed a second in net this year for the Braves. Berry's 182 saves currently ranks ninth on Bradley's all-time leaderboard, yet he is now five saves away from eighth place in total saves amongst the many keepers in Bradley's prestigious program history. In the Braves' first home game and first win of the season, Berry recorded a career high 11 saves. In 43 games for the Braves, Berry has allowed 1.48 goals a game, saved 74.6% of the shots he's faced, has recorded nine shutouts and a 10-19-12 record.
Dominic Woolley is in his second year on the hilltop. He has accumulated 1,624 minutes for the Braves, earned a pair of assists each season, while appearing in 31 matches and starting all but five of those contests. He is just one of three Braves this season to have two or more assists on the year.
Michael Switala transferred to Peoria this year. Switala's impact is imminent, serving as one of the Braves' rotating the captains' armband. Switala's three goals are tied for the second most on the team. Switala's 925 minutes this season are the second most amongst transfers, as he earned his 4,000th career colligate minute this season at UCF. Switala earned the teams third-best shots on goal percentage at .625, going a perfect 1-1 on penalty kicks for the Braves.
Emilio Madrigal has just two starts, but has played in 11 total games this season. His 345 minutes primarily come as a second-half sub. Madrigal has played in 22 games for 679 with eight shots since transferring to Bradley before the 2024 season.
Jaime Ponce started the Braves' first eight games of the season, as the second-year transfer played in 55 or more minutes in all but one of the first nine contests. In two seasons and 19 games wearing red and white, Ponce played 1,301 minutes of excellent defense.
About the Opponent
The Bruins have just two losses on the year, both came during conference season. In their last four games, Belmont is 0-2-2 and has drawn each of their last three road games. Grant Calvert is statistically one of the best keepers in the conference. Calvert is top three in saves per game (3rd, 3.29), save percentage (2nd, 80.7%), goals against average (2nd, .794) and shutouts (3rd, 4). Brock Kiper and Jaxon Stokes both have four goals for Belmont.
Series History
The Braves are 5-3-1 all-time against the Bruins. In Peoria, Bradley also controls the series lead, 3-1-1. Last year against Belmont, the Braves earned a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal by junior
Ian Ferguson. In fact, Ferguson has been the lone Bradley goal scorer in each of the past two meetings with Belmont. With seven shots on the year, Ferguson is still searching for his first goal in his junior campaign.
