Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Cody Roskens
Peoria, IL -- The Bradley Braves fall to the UT Martin Skyhawks in non-conference action.

UT Martin remained unbeaten on the young season, using a strong second half to get past Bradley 78–67 on Wednesday night at Carver Arena.

The first half was full of stops and starts, with 27 fouls called and both offenses enduring scoring droughts. Bradley, despite struggling from the floor, managed to create havoc on the defensive end, forcing UT Martin into double-digit turnovers before halftime. A major factor in that effort was Jaquan Johnson, who finished the night with nine steals, tying the Bradley single-game record set by Anthony Manuel in 1988 and Rob Dye in 1999.

After trailing 36–34 at halftime, UT Martin's offense caught fire, shooting 64 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range in the final 20 minutes. The balanced attack was led by Andrija Bukumirović and Matas Deniusas, who each scored 20 points. Bukumirović was efficient all night (9-for-14 from the field), while Deniusas added seven rebounds and went 7-for-8 at the foul line.

Filip Petkovski also came up big for UT Martin with 10 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds, helping orchestrate an offense that finished with 17 assists on 28 made field goals. Dragos Lungu added 11 points and 7 rebounds, while Afan Trnka contributed 5 assists and 3 steals. Defensively, the Skyhawks held Bradley to just 33 percent shooting and 3-of-20 from beyond the arc.

Bradley was led by Ahmet Jonovic's 16 points, while Johnson and Timoty van der Knaap added 14 and 13 points, respectively. The Braves did much of their scoring at the free-throw line, converting 30 of 37 attempts (81 percent), and capitalized on UT Martin's 23 turnovers, turning them into 21 points.

The first half featured seven ties and nine lead changes before UT Martin took control midway through the second half, sparked by Bukumirović and Deniusas. Bradley briefly pulled even, but the Skyhawks responded with a 15–8 scoring run that stretched into the final minutes.

UT Martin kept Bradley at arm's length the rest of the way, closing out a 78–67 victory. The Braves will be back in action this weekend when they hit the road to San Francisco. The game is set for a 9:00 p.m. CST start time and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.
