Peoria, Ill. – Bradley Volleyball fought to the end but ultimately came up short, losing both matches to UIC and Valparaiso to miss the MVC Tournament.
Match One – UIC
The Braves took the first set against the Flames but couldn't maintain their momentum, dropping the next three sets to lose in four on Friday (26-24, 18-25, 24-26, 20-25). Gracie Furlong recorded a double-double, leading the team with 19 kills on a .400 hitting percentage while adding 15 digs and a service ace. Mairen Mannon also had a solid day, finishing with 18 kills on a team-leading .452 hitting percentage while totaling two blocks. Maria Drapp reached 1,000 assists on the season after totaling 53 in the match, while adding a block and five digs. Tendai Titley led the back row with 16 digs and added 13 kills, a service ace, and a block. Irene Mostardini tallied 15 digs and two service aces.
Match Two – Valparaiso
Bradley's struggles continued on Saturday, when they dropped the first two sets, but they rallied to force a fifth; however, the comeback ended there (16-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 12-15). Drapp posted a double-double with 52 assists and 12 digs while adding four service aces. Titley led the team in kills with 18 while recording 11 digs for her second double-double of the weekend. Mannon anchored the frontline defensively, leading the team with five blocks while adding eight kills. Chloe Parker totaled nine kills on a .500 hitting percentage with two blocks. Mostardini led the back row with 23 digs, which pushed her past 1,000 digs for her Bradley career, while adding two service aces.
