Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Caden Sexton
San Francisco, CA – The Bradley Braves 1-2 (0-0 MVC) fell to the San Francisco Dons 3-1 (0-0 WCC) 75-64 on the road.

The game was back in forth with 11 lead changes. The Braves were able to keep things close throughout the night, taking the Dons to halftime at their building with a 37-36 lead. The Braves were dominant at the free-throw line, taking advantage of the charity stripe with 18 points, shooting 86%. Bradley was careful with the ball, having half the turnovers as San Francisco and sophomore Timoty van der Knapp made it difficult for San Francisco's offense by eliminating the passing lanes.

Van der Knapp continued his presence on both sides of the ball to go into halftime with a second effort putback.

The defenses shone in the second half, holding each other to zero points for over two minutes.

Sophomore Jaquan Johnson once again led the team in scoring with 16 points. Johnson snagged four rebounds, three assists as the bully took a team-high four steals. Alex Huibregtse earned 11 points, making three from beyond the arc. Huibregtse tied Johnson for a team-high 28 minutes.

Junior Damarion Burch came back for the Braves and scored nine points. Freshman Montana Wheeler matched him in points with nine, leading the Braves with four assists. Senior Ahmet Jonovic led the Braves with six rebounds.

The Dons have returned the majority of their roster from last season's NIT squad.

The Braves will host UMass Lowell on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m. CT. For tickets and more information, visit bradleybraves.com.
