Bradley will be looking to snap a two-game skid when they host UMass Lowell in their final home game before they hit the road for the Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando, Florida. The Braves have been tested early this season with three meetings against Mid-Major Madness Top-25 teams Saint Louis (exhibition), UT Martin, and San Francisco in their first four games.
Bradley's defense ranks among the best in the country in forcing turnovers, sitting 11th nationally by turning opponents over on roughly 25% of their possessions. The Braves have also continued to get to the free-throw line in bunches, attempting nearly 24 per game. Jaquan Johnson leads a quartet of double-figure scorers at 19.0 points per game, with Demarion Burch, Alex Huibregtse, and AJ Smith all averaging better than 10.0 points per game. Johnson currently ranks tied for seventh in the country in steals with 15 and is the only player under 6 feet tall in the top 18. AJ Smith ranks close behind with 12 steals
UMass Lowell is 1-4 to start the season after playing a very difficult non-conference schedule, including trips to UConn and Wake Forest in their first five games. The River Hawks have leaned on JJ Massaquoi and Austin Green, who are both averaging double figures in just 22 minutes per game. Head coach Pat Duquette is in his 13th season at the helm and holds an overall record of 176–192.
History says!
Bradley and UMass Lowell have never met on the hardwood, making this their first all-time meeting. As a program, Bradley is 6-3 against the America East Conference, with BU's last encounter coming against Vermont in 2023–24, when the Braves earned a 79–70 win.
