PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Athletics is excited to announce the 5th Annual Bradley Softball Long Ball Derby, set for January 30, 2026 at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria. The fan favorite event continues to serve as the program's largest fundraising initiative, offering a fun and interactive way for supporters to connect with Bradley Softball.

Here's how it works. Fans select a donation increment such as $0.25, $0.50, $1, or $2 and choose a Bradley Softball student athlete, coach, or guest hitter to support. Each participant receives 10 swings to record their longest hit. Using the HitTrax system, the longest distance is multiplied by the selected donation amount to determine the final contribution.

Last year's event saw average long balls reach over 220 feet and raised more than $12,000 in support of Bradley Softball. The program now looks to build on that momentum and set a new record in 2026.

Making a donation is simple. Supporters can select a hitter and pledge an amount per foot, or choose a flat donation to directly support the program. Pledges are confirmed instantly, and following the event, donors receive an automated update with results for their selected hitter. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible, acknowledged by Bradley University Advancement, and count toward 2024–25 Braves Club membership levels.

"The Bradley Softball Long Ball Derby is a fantastic opportunity for our student-athletes to engage with the program and our community," said head coach Sarah Willis. "Now in its fifth year, the derby has become our team's largest fundraising event. The funds raised directly support our pre-season experiences, which are critical as we spend the first four weeks on the road before the MVC opening weekend. This event is not only a fun way to rally support, but also an essential part of preparing our athletes for the season. We're excited to build on past success and aim to surpass our previous records."
