Game Recap: Softball | | Trey Jordan

Friday, February 7

Lipscomb 3, Bradley 0
The Braves opened the tournament in a hard-fought battle against Lipscomb, ultimately falling 3-0. Despite a tough start offensively, Bradley's pitching and defense held strong, allowing just three runs while working through early pressure.

Arkansas 3, Bradley 1
Bradley put together a competitive effort against #13 ranked Arkansas, keeping the game close throughout. The Braves limited the Razorbacks to just three runs, showing strong defensive execution. A late push in the seventh inning put Bradley on the board, but the comeback bid fell just short.

Saturday, February 8

Arkansas 9, Bradley 1
Facing Arkansas for the second time in as many days, the Braves held their own in the early innings before the Razorbacks pulled away late. Arkansas used a big sixth inning to break the game open, but Bradley continued to compete, putting runners on base and looking for scoring opportunities.

Bradley 7, Texas State 3 (First Win of the Season)
The Braves responded in a big way against Texas State, delivering a well-rounded performance in a 7-3 victory. Bradley's offense found its rhythm, racking up 12 hits and scoring in four different innings. A three-run seventh inning sealed the game, and the pitching staff limited Texas State to just five hits in a solid defensive effort.

Sunday, February 9

Bradley 2, San Diego 0 (Shutout Victory)
The Braves closed the weekend in dominant fashion, securing a 2-0 shutout win over San Diego. Pitcher Sydney Kennedy was outstanding, throwing a complete-game shutout with five strikeouts. The offense made key plays when it mattered most, scoring in the fourth and sixth innings to lock in the victory.

Weekend Takeaways:

Strong Finish: Bradley wrapped up the weekend with back-to-back wins, gaining momentum heading into the next stretch of the season.
Pitching Resilience: The Braves' pitchers delivered impressive performances, highlighted by a shutout win over San Diego and limiting a ranked Arkansas team to just three runs in their first matchup.
Offensive Breakthroughs: After some early struggles, Bradley's bats came alive in their final two games, combining for nine runs and 15 hits.

With lessons learned and confidence growing, the Braves will look to build on this momentum as they head to Mississippi State next weekend for The Snowman: Alex Wilcox Memorial presented by Newk's Eatery.
