Peoria, Ill. - Bradley Women's Basketball dropped their second consecutive game on the road, falling to the Drake Bulldogs 72-52.
A Slow Start
The Braves and Bulldogs traded off early field goals, but Drake took control of the game afterward, leading Bradley at the end of the first quarter 19-11. Drake extended their lead to 13 at the half, leading 41-28.
Standout Performances for Bradley
- Soleil Barnes led the team with four assists. She was also second on the team in points with 12 and tied for second in rebounds with four. She has combined for 26 points, six assists, and five boards in the first two games of this road trip.
- Kaylen Nelson has put up back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts, leading the team with 13 points while grabbing four boards and getting a steal without turning the ball over once.
- Claire McDougall had a solid game, putting up 10 points, and grabbing four rebounds while also totaling a block and two steals. She shot 4-for-6 from the field and went a perfect 3-for-3 at the free throw line.
The Battle in the Paint
Bradley struggled to hold Drake down low as the Bulldogs scored 42 points in the paint while the Braves only scored 18. The Bulldogs also took advantage of the fast break, scoring 20 points on fast-break layups.
