What to Watch

The Braves have been heating up as they approach the MVC Tournament. Bradley will need to showcase the strong defensive abilities that they've had all year to keep the Salukis from gaining any momentum. The Braves did a good job of this in their last game against the Flames as UIC was held to just 20 points in the paint while shooting 19-for-50 from the field.

Key Players to Watch

  • Soleil Barnes (Bradley): Barnes has elevated her game to another level in the past two weeks, scoring 30 points against Illinois State and followed that performance with 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists against UIC. The Braves will need her to keep this level of play as they head into their final stretch of games and going into the MVC Tournament.

  • Ellie McDermid (Bradley): McDermid has been solid all season and she has only been getting better in her last few games. McDermid put up 40 points and grabbed 26 boards in her last three games, including one double-double, the MVC Freshman of the Week award, and she was also named the Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

About the Braves

The Braves (12-17, 6-12 MVC) have won two of their last three games and have been showing a lot of improvement offensively. In their last game against UIC, the Braves and Flames were tied heading into the fourth quarter, but Bradley went on a nine-point run to begin the quarter and went on another eight-point run later in the quarter to take a 65-54 win.

About the Flames

The Salukis (4-23, 2-16 MVC) have struggled as of late, dropping their last seven straight games. In their last game against the Braves, Bradley took the win 68-46, thanks in part to a 43-point first half for the Braves that gave them an early 17-point lead. Barnes and Tamia Perryman stood out as Barnes scored 22 points while grabbing six rebounds and Perryman scored 18 points while grabbing six boards as well.
