Setting the Table

With the quarterfinal round set, the Bradley Braves know their opponent. For the third time this season, the Braves will battle the Racers of Murray State. The Braves swept both meetings against the Racers this season (74-61 on 1/18 in Murray, KY and 85-83 in overtime on 2/22 in Peoria). The Racers defeated the #10 seeded Evansville Purple Aces 74-53 Thursday night, largely thanks to Terence Harcum's 31 points on 7-for-7 shooting from three-point range.

Murray State was one of four teams to punch their ticket to the quarterfinal round. In the first game of the day, #8 Southern Illinois won a thrilling contest over #9 Indiana State 86-85. #5 Illinois State handled #12 Missouri State 70-54, and in the night's finale, #11 Valparaiso pulled off the upset over the #6 seeded UIC 67-50. Friday's quarterfinal matchups can be found below. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.

12:00 PM | #8 Southern Illinois vs #1 Drake
2:30 PM | #5 Illinois State vs #4 Belmont

6:00 PM | #7 Murray State vs #2 Bradley
8:30 PM | #11 Valparaiso vs #3 Northern Iowa

Should the Braves advance, they will play the winner of #11 Valparaiso and #3 Northern Iowa at 5:00 PM CST on CBS Sports Network. Historically, the Braves have seen some of their biggest moments come under head coach Brian Wardle. Coach Wardle is one win away from owning the Bradley record for wins in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and as a team they have advanced to the semifinals or better in four of the last six seasons, including each of the last two years.
