PEORIA— Bradley softball capitalized on a pair of high-impact innings and a balanced offensive attack to top SIUE, 9-4, Tuesday evening at OSF Healthcare Field. The win moves the Braves to 18-21 on the season, highlighting a lineup that is increasingly finding production across the board.
After giving up two early runs in the first, the Braves responded with a four-run third inning. Junior infielder Ashley Breeding delivered the key swing — an RBI triple to right-center that tied the game. Breeding, now batting .269 with a 20 RBIs, finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, continuing her consistent impact near the top of the order.
Bradley added one more in the fourth on a sacrifice fly from Austin Comstock, and then broke the game open with a four-run fifth inning. Kierston McCoy, the team's top offensive performer with a .303 average and team-best 25 RBIs, added an RBI single and a Sac Fly. Freshman Morgan Schlosser also doubled, marking her fifth of the season.
Junior Hannah Organ earned the win in relief, striking out three across three innings and allowing just one hit. She improved to 4-7 on the year and holds a 5.22 ERA over 61.2 innings pitched. Junior Kinsley Robertson entered in the later innings and threw two frames, allowing one earned run on two hits. Robertson now holds a 2.10 ERA in limited action across 3.1 innings.
Bradley out-hit SIUE 9-4 and took advantage of three Cougar errors. The Braves added five two-out RBIs, increasing their season total in that category to 55. Their performance with runners in scoring position continued to trend up, now totaling 127 RBIs on 493 RISP opportunities.
