Peoria, Ill. – Bradley's Reece Clapp Named MVC Pitcher of the Week
Bradley junior right-hander Reece Clapp has been named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Pitcher of the Week.
Clapp was dominant out of the bullpen during Bradley's series win at Evansville, tossing 5.2 scoreless innings across two appearances to help the Braves clinch a spot in the MVC Tournament. On Friday, he struck out a career-high five batters in 2.2 innings of relief, then followed it up with 3.0 shutout frames on Saturday to earn the win in the tournament-clinching finale.
The Columbia, Missouri native allowed just two hits on the weekend and recorded six strikeouts without giving up a run. Clapp now leads the Braves' pitching staff with a 4.70 ERA—lowest among all qualified pitchers—and owns a .287 opponent batting average across 44.0 innings this season, along with six saves and 41 strikeouts.
This marks the first MVC weekly honor of Clapp's Bradley career.
