PEORIA, Ill. – Fifth-year senior
Jack Crull of the Bradley cross country and track & field team and sophomore
Jillian Cosler of the Bradley women's golf program have been named as the male and female winners of the Varsity Club Most Outstanding Athlete award announced Tuesday.
Crull earned NCAA First Team All-America honors after finishing in sixth place in the Men's 1500m Championship at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He became the first Bradley athlete to earn NCAA First Team All-America honors since 1954, when Paul Erickson finished tied for fifth in the Pole Vault. Crull's final season on the Hilltop also saw him win three Missouri Valley Conference Championships and add two additional All-MVC honors in track & field. He also ran the second and third sub-four-minute miles in program history in February 2025, remaining the only athlete to do so in Bradley Track & Field history. Crull also earned all-conference honors in cross country, finishing sixth in the MVC Championship.
Cosler won her first two collegiate tournament individual titles during her sophomore season, prevailing after a three-hole playoff in the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic in October 2024 and winning the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in April 2025. She was the sixth different golfer to win multiple individual titles in a season and won the team's seventh conference championship individual title in program history, plus the first since 2014. Her conference championship title earned her qualification to the NCAA Columbus Regional, where she finished 55th. She was the first golfer to compete at a regional event since 2006, when the team qualified after winning the MVC Championship team title that spring.
Academically, Cosler received The Valley's Elite 18 Award for women's golf and was an All-MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team honoree. She was also recognized as an All-America Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches' Association for the second consecutive season.
Crull is the sixth cross country and track & field athlete to earn the Varsity Club Most Outstanding Male Athlete award in the last nine seasons and the first to do so since
George Watson in 2022-23. He was selected for the award over Bobby Atkinson (baseball), Duke Deen (men's basketball), Charlie Dickerson (soccer), Darius Hannah (men's basketball), Timmy O'Brien (baseball),
Jayde Rosslee (cross country/track & field) and Carter Stevenson (men's golf).
Cosler is the first golfer to win the Varsity Club Most Outstanding Female Athlete award since Danielle Lemek earned the award in 2012-13 and wins the seventh Most Outstanding Female Athlete award in women's golf program history. She was selected for the award over one representative from each of Bradley women's programs, earning the honor over Soleil Barnes (women's basketball),
Amiyah Davis (track & field), Abi Hancock (cross country/track & field), Sydney Kennedy (softball), Irene Mostardini (volleyball), Mariia Pukhina (tennis) and
Kaitlyn Sheppard (cross country/track & field).
