PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley Cross Country begins the 2025 season this Friday, traveling just south of Urbana-Champaign to Savoy, Ill., for the Fighting Illini Open.

PREVIOUSLY AT ILLINOIS…
This will be the first University of Illinois-hosted meet Bradley has competed in since 2022.
The Men's 8K race saw
Caden Simone lead all Braves with an eighth-place finish, clocking a 25:28.5. Rodrigo Alvarez Gonzalez, Noah Costa and
Mickey Vreeland each notched top-20 finishes. The team finished second overall, behind only Wisconsin.
The Women's 5K race saw a fourth-place finish for
Anna Perry (18:21.5) and a 10th-place finish for
Kaitlyn Sheppard (18:40.8). The team finished fourth overall, behind Wisconsin, Illinois and Illinois State.
TITLE DEFENDING SEASON
The Braves are coming off a season with two Missouri Valley Conference Championships, sweeping the men's and women's team titles at the 2024 MVC Championship in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Ten athletes earned either All-MVC or All-MVC Honorable Mention recognition, and all but one All-Conference athlete returns for the 2025 season.

Bradley will break for a couple of weeks before hosting the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday, Sept. 19, at Detweiller Park, its first of two home meets during the 2025 season.
