The Bradley Braves
Last time out, the Braves finished with a 1-1 draw against the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Michael Switala scored the lone goal for the Braves, his first of the season. The draw moved Bradley to 1-2-2 on the year and capped off a stretch in which they played four of their first five games on the road.
So far this season, Bradley has had balanced production, with five different players recording a goal and 16 different players making at least one start. The Braves' offense has also found a bit of a rhythm, scoring at least one goal in four of their first five matches.
Drew Berry has held down the starting goalkeeper role, playing all 450 minutes this season and allowing only eight goals on 71 shots faced. Berry and the Braves have recorded two shutouts so far, coming against Marquette and Milwaukee.
Bradley's upcoming match will be featured as part of Family Weekend on campus. There will be a free student shuttle from the student center to the stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m., as well as a free bucket hat giveaway for students at the gate.
The Omaha Mavericks
Don't let their 0-4-1 record fool you, few mid-major teams in the country have faced a more challenging non-conference schedule than the Omaha Mavericks. They opened the 2025 season with a road trip to Florida, taking on both Florida International and Florida Atlantic, before returning home to face top-25 Utah Valley.
Following their matchup with Utah Valley, Omaha visited MVC preseason favorite Drake, then faced Dodge Street Derby rival Creighton. Still remaining on their non-conference schedule are a road trip to Notre Dame and a home contest against SIUE.
On the field, the Mavericks are led by a trio of goal scorers, Bradley Takamo, Maguire Perkins, and Italo Jenkins who have combined for all four of Omaha's goals this season. In goal, Cole Stewart has been the primary starter, appearing in four of the first five games and posting a 2.55 goals-against average on 55 shots faced. The Mavericks are coached by Donovan Dowling, now in his fourth season at the helm. He holds a career record of 23-25-10.
History Says
Omaha leads the all-time series 5-3-0, but all three of their losses have come in Peoria. Omaha won the most recent meeting between the two programs in 2022 with a 2-1 final score. As a program, Bradley holds an 18-10-4 record against current Summit League teams, including a dominant 15-2-2 mark at Shea Stadium.
