PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University volleyball athlete Irene Mostardini has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Mostardini was honored after tallying 72 digs in three matches at the Blue Ridge Volleyball Classic in Asheville, N.C.

The senior from Monsummano Terme, Italy, registered performances of 28 (vs. College of Charleston), 17 (vs. Charlotte) and 27 (vs. Western Carolina) digs during the Classic on Friday, Sept. 5, and Saturday, Sept. 6. Mostardini currently ranks fourth in digs in all of Division I with 133 and has four matches with 20 or more digs this season. She currently averages 5.12 digs per set during the season, which would rank as the third-highest in a season in program history.

Mostardini's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
