PREVIEWING THE COUGARS
The SIUE Cougars are 3-1 on the season, notching wins against Illinois-Springfield, Valparaiso and Northern Iowa. The Cougars won their first three matches, but most recently lost 7-0 to Missouri in Columbia.
Friday's match will be the 18th all-time meeting between the Braves and the Cougars. Bradley is 6-11 in the prior 17 meetings and 1-6 in Edwardsville. The two programs have met every year since 2019, and SIUE has won five of the seven meetings in that period. Last season's meeting saw the Cougars win 5-2 at Parkside Fitness, which marked SIUE's fourth consecutive win in the series.
SIUE is led by sophomore Elena Palioura and senior Paloma Hennicaux, both of whom have nine singles wins on the season. Four other players have at least seven wins this season. In doubles, the pair of Stefaniya Anikina and Margaux Guibal Britt hold nine victories together; three other pairs have five or more wins.

The Braves are coming off a 1-1 weekend at Parkside Fitness, notching a 4-3 victory over Western Illinois on Feb. 6 and falling 4-3 to St. Thomas on Feb. 8.
Ruby Tseng moved to a perfect 5-0 in singles action during the dual season, picking up a two-set and three-set victory over the weekend.

Amber Sharp won their first match as a pair on court one on Sunday, earning MVC Doubles Team of the Week this past Tuesday.
