The Valley
The Belmont Bruins remained atop the conference standings over the weekend, posting a 12-2 record in league play. Murray State and Bradley sit in second and third, respectively, while Illinois State and UIC round out the top five. UNI, Valparaiso and Drake are all within two games of the top five. Monday's matchup between Bradley and Belmont marks the second meeting between the two teams this season, with Belmont earning an 88-78 win in Nashville on New Year's Day.

Both teams rank in the top four in the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring offense, with Belmont sitting second and Bradley fourth. In the first meeting, Bradley freshman Montana Wheeler tied the program's single-game freshman record for made three-pointers with seven. The Braves also forced Belmont into 16 turnovers, converting them into 21 points. Belmont countered with 36 points in the paint and shot 54.9 percent from the field for the game.

Bradley will look to bounce back after a 61-49 loss to the UNI Panthers in its most recent outing. Jaquan Johnson continues to rank in the top three in the MVC in both scoring (16.2 points per game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.6). As a team, Bradley leads the conference in turnover margin (+4.56) and steals (8.24 per game). With six regular-season games remaining, the Braves will host three of the MVC's top five teams at Carver Arena: Belmont, Illinois State, and Murray State.

Alex Huibregtse leads the MVC in three-point percentage at 41.7% and is second in total made threes ar 70. Montana Wheeler currently leads all freshman in assist to turnover ratio and ranks second in the MVC at 3.3. Ahmet Jonovic has seen is rebounding steadily climb now sitting just outside the top-10 in the league for rebounding at 5.5 rebounds per game.

The Belmont Bruins
Belmont enters the matchup following a six-point road win over the UIC Flames in Chicago. Tyler Lundblade and Sam Orme led the Bruins, finishing as the only two players in double figures and accounting for 39 of Belmont's 68 points. On the season, Belmont leads the MVC in field goal percentage, opponent field goal percentage, and three-point field goal percentage, while boasting four players averaging double figures in scoring (Lundblade, Orme, Drew Schanowski, and Nic McClain). Casey Alexander is the head coach for the Bruins and owns a career record of 299-177.

History Says!
History suggests that games between Bradley and Belmont in Peoria often come down to the wire, with two of the last three meetings decided in the final minute. Belmont leads the all-time series 4-2 and holds a 2-1 advantage in games played in Peoria.
