PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University softball athlete Kierston McCoy has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. McCoy was honored after recording her first career multi-home run game and ninth career three-hit game against Indiana State on March 9.

The senior from Mapleton, Ill., went three-for-three with two home runs in Monday's series finale against Indiana State. McCoy also drew a walk, reaching all four times at the plate during the game. McCoy, who hit her 23rd and 24th career home runs, ties her career high for home runs in a season with seven and ranks fourth all-time in program history in the statistic. McCoy's performance also marked the ninth time she has had three hits in a game and was her third instance this season.

McCoy's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
