Terre Haute, Ind. – Bradley Baseball opened Missouri Valley Conference play in style on Friday night, earning its first conference win of the season with a 10-8 victory over Indiana State at Bob Warn Field.
A Fast Start and Momentum Swings
Bradley struck first in the opening inning as Hayden Miller launched a two-run home run to give the Braves an early 2-0 lead. Indiana State answered in the second, but Bradley regained control in the fourth inning with four runs. Jaxon Schumacher delivered a two-RBI double before Sohrab Rezaei followed with a two-run double to extend the lead to 6-1.
The Sycamores responded with a six-run bottom half of the fourth, highlighted by a grand slam from Carter Beck, to take a 7-6 advantage. Bradley stayed composed and flipped the game late, scoring three runs in the eighth inning capitalizing on defensive miscues before adding an insurance run in the ninth.
Standout Performances for Bradley
Rezaei led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in three runs. Miller added two RBIs, including his early home run, while Schumacher contributed two RBIs of his own. Landon Lowe reached base four times, scored twice, drove in a run, and stole three bases to spark the offense.
Luke Skinner added two hits and scored twice, while the Braves totaled 10 hits and took advantage of two Indiana State errors.
On the Mound
Davis Webb earned the win in relief, tossing 3.2 innings and allowing just one run while striking out five. Joey Cirelli closed the door to secure his first save of the season, working the final two innings. Lou Levy got the start, pitching 3.1 innings before handing things over to the bullpen.
Indiana State finished with 11 hits, led by Jorge Cartagena and Carter Beck, who combined for six hits and six RBIs.
