AJ Garcia highlighted the surge with a grand slam, while Hayden Miller and Jaxon Schumacher each added long balls as the Braves appeared in control.

Indiana State responded in the fifth with two runs before completely flipping the game in the sixth. The Sycamores plated eight runs in the inning, capped by a grand slam from Emil Estrella, to erase the deficit and tie the game at 10-10. Indiana State continued to pile on with runs in the seventh and a six-run eighth inning to take full control and pull away late.
