Terre Haute, Ind. – Bradley Baseball dropped its Missouri Valley Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon, falling 18-10 to Indiana State at Bob Warn Field.
Early Lead Slips Away
Bradley broke through in a big way in the middle innings, erupting for five runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth to build a commanding 9-0 lead. AJ Garcia highlighted the surge with a grand slam, while Hayden Miller and Jaxon Schumacher each added long balls as the Braves appeared in control.
Indiana State responded in the fifth with two runs before completely flipping the game in the sixth. The Sycamores plated eight runs in the inning, capped by a grand slam from Emil Estrella, to erase the deficit and tie the game at 10-10. Indiana State continued to pile on with runs in the seventh and a six-run eighth inning to take full control and pull away late.
Standout Performances for Bradley
AJ Garcia led the offense, going 2-for-4 with a grand slam and 4 RBIs. Landon Lowe added three hits and drove in two runs, while Hayden Miller and Jaxon Schumacher each contributed home runs as part of Bradley's 12-hit effort. Luke Skinner reached base twice and scored two runs as the Braves produced double-digit scoring for the day.
On the Mound
Robert Sanford delivered a strong start, striking out 11 over five innings while allowing just two runs. However, the bullpen struggled to contain Indiana State's offense, surrendering 16 runs over the final three innings as the Sycamores capitalized on key opportunities.
