PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University baseball athlete Robert Sanford has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Sanford was honored after tallying 11 strikeouts in just five innings against Indiana State.

The junior from Carrollton, Texas, recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts with one walk and two runs allowed in five innings pitched during the first start of his Bradley career against Indiana State over the weekend. Sanford's 11 K's are the most in a game by a Brave since Jacob Kisting struck out 12 against Jacksonville State on March 3, 2023.

Sanford's strong performance and academic success have earned him this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
