Saint Louis 2, Bradley 1
St. Louis, Mo. – Bradley struck first but Saint Louis answered with a pair of runs to edge the Braves, 2–1, Friday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
The game remained scoreless through the first two innings before Bradley broke through in the third. Michael Quick delivered an RBI single to bring home the Braves' first run of the afternoon, giving Bradley a 1–0 lead.
Saint Louis answered in the fourth inning to even the score. A leadoff double from Chase Beattie helped spark the rally, and Joey Canzoni later drove in the tying run with a sacrifice to make it 1–1.
The Billikens took the lead in the sixth when Beattie launched a solo home run to left field, putting Saint Louis ahead 2–1. Bradley continued to threaten late but could not push across the tying run.
The Braves finished with six hits and five walks in the game. Luke Skinner led the offense with a strong day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored. Michael Quick added an RBI hit, while Sohrab Rezaei, Anthony Martinez, and Cal Leighton each recorded a hit.
On the mound, Lou Levy delivered a solid start, working 4.1 innings while allowing one run on six hits. Ryan Schaffnit followed with 3.2 innings of relief, giving up one run on three hits as Bradley kept the game within reach.
Saint Louis totaled nine hits and was paced by Beattie, who finished 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and an RBI.
