Game Recap: Baseball |

Saint Louis 9, Bradley 7

St. Louis, Mo. – Bradley produced 10 hits and twice rallied late, but Saint Louis held off the Braves for a 9–7 decision Saturday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.

Bradley jumped on the scoreboard first with a two-run second inning to grab an early lead. The Braves continued to apply pressure in the third, adding another run to move in front 3–0.

Saint Louis responded quickly, putting together a pair of big innings to seize momentum. The Billikens scored three runs in the second and followed with another three-run frame in the third to flip the game in their favor.

Bradley refused to go away. The Braves chipped back into the deficit in the sixth inning, plating two runs to stay within striking distance. Saint Louis answered with a run in the fourth and another in the fifth before adding an insurance run in the eighth.

Trailing late, Bradley mounted one final push in the ninth inning, scoring two runs to cut the deficit to 9–7, but the rally fell just short as the Billikens closed out the victory.

Offensively, Bradley totaled 10 hits and drew six walks. Colin McCormick led the way with a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with a run scored. Anthony Martinez and Jack Holubowski each delivered key swings with two-run home runs, while Hayden Miller added a double, an RBI, and scored twice.

AJ Garcia also contributed with a two-hit afternoon as the Braves kept pressure on the Saint Louis pitching staff throughout the game.

On the mound, Gavin Thompson made the start for Bradley, working two innings with one strikeout. Davis Webb provided the bulk of the relief, throwing 4.1 innings with three strikeouts, while Brady Appel and Diego Menjivar combined to finish the final frames.

Saint Louis finished with nine hits and took advantage of seven walks and several key scoring opportunities to secure the win.
