VALPARAISO, IN. – Bradley Baseball defeated Valparaiso 9-6 on Saturday afternoon at Emory G. Bauer Field to continue Missouri Valley Conference play.
Keeping it Close Early
Valparaiso struck first with two runs in the opening inning, but the Braves answered quickly. Bradley plated two runs in the second to even the game, then took the lead in the third behind timely hitting to make it 3-2.
The Beacons tied the game in the fourth, but Bradley responded with a steady offensive push. The Braves scored two runs in the fifth and added another in the sixth to build a 6-3 advantage.
Valparaiso made things interesting with a three-run eighth inning to tie the game at 6-6. Bradley delivered the decisive blow in the ninth, scoring three runs to reclaim the lead and secure the 9-6 victory.
Standout Performances for Bradley
Landon Lowe led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. Michael Quick continued his consistent production, finishing 3-for-6 with a run scored.
Luke Skinner turned in a strong performance, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, while Jaxon Schumacher powered the offense with a 4-for-5 day that included two home runs and four RBI.
Walker Buchanan added to the offensive surge with four hits and two runs scored, helping the Braves total 19 hits on the day.
