CHICAGO, Ill. -- Bradley Tennis fell to the Drake Bulldogs, 4-3, on Friday, bringing its MVC Tournament run to an end in the quarterfinals.
The Braves earned a walkover win on court three, but a pair of 6-4 wins by Drake on courts one and two secured the doubles point for the Bulldogs.
Bradley started singles play with a walkover victory on court six.
Mariia Pukhina quickly defeated her opponent on court three, defeating Drake's Shiori Takenda in roughly one hour, 6-2, 6-1. Straight-set victories from Drake on courts one and four put the Bulldogs up 3-2. The matches on courts two and five were forced into a third set after tiebreak victories in set two, with Drake ultimately earning the decisive point on court two. On court five,
Ann Hsieh's second-set tiebreak win forced a third set, but the match was rendered incomplete.
Bradley wraps up the season at 9-13 overall with a 4-3 record in conference play. Its nine wins are the most by the team since 2022, and the four MVC wins tie the record for the most in a season in program history.
