Never in the 40-season history of the Bradley men's soccer program have the Braves had at least one player earn an MVC Weekly Award in four consecutive weeks, until now!
Coughlon named MVC Player of the Week
Mitch Coughlon joins a growing list of Bradley Braves to earn an MVC Weekly Award, joining teammates
Marçal Salom Chandre,
Dāvis Bormanis,
Liam Healey, and
Adrian Franks as the fifth Brave to earn the honor this season.
The senior forward recorded two goals in the Braves' thrilling 3-3 draw against Eastern Illinois on September 11. With his two-goal performance, Coughlon moved into the top 15 on Bradley's all-time goals list, which includes 196 players. He is currently tied for 14th with Jochen Graf (2009-12) and Greg Cors (1988-91) with 15 career goals. His brace against the Panthers was his first of the 2026 season and the third of his career.
Coughlon currently ranks tied for first in the MVC in goals (4) and points (8), while ranking tied for fourth in shots on goal (8). With his strong start to the season, Bradley's offense has made a significant leap in production from 2025 to 2026. Through 18 games in 2025, the Braves scored 22 goals; through six games in 2026, they have already scored 11. Bradley's scoring offense currently ranks second in the MVC at 1.8 goals per game, and the Braves remain unbeaten at home through three matches this season.
Coughlon is currently on a historic pace for Bradley soccer. His career scoring percentage (.242) and shot-on-goal percentage (.629) both currently rank as the best marks in program history. His 15 career goals are the second-most by a Brave since 2012, trailing only Gerit Wintermeyer, who scored 24 goals from 2017 through the 2021 spring season.
Coughlon is originally from nearby Washington, IL, where he put himself on the state soccer map with 135 goals during his four years with the Washington Panthers program along with numerous local and state-wide publication honors.

Bradley is off to 1-1-4 start to the season and will be in action this coming Wednesday when they hit the road to take on in-state foe SIUE. Bradley Soccer will be back at home on September 19th at 2:00 p.m. when they host the Chicago State Cougars over Family Weekend. The game will be free admission.
