?    MVC Newcomer of the Week (Feb. 14, 2005)

2005-06 (Senior)

?   Once again Bradley’s top reserve, Wright was the fourth-leading scorer (10.1 ppg) and third-leading rebounder (5.4 rpg).

?   A starter during the first half of the season, Wright helped the Braves to a 14-4 record in his 18 games off the bench.

?   Second on the team with three double-double performances and he pulled down nine rebounds in four other double-digit scoring games, including his 14-point, 9-board effort in the NCAA Tournament second-round win versus Pittsburgh.

?   Drained the game-winning basket with 9.2 seconds remaining in overtime Jan. 28 at Evansville, then intercepted a last-chance inbounds pass to seal the win.

?   Also had a last-second steal in regulation Dec. 28 versus Northern Iowa, then drove the court and drained what would have been a game-winning 3-pointer had the Bradley bench not called timeout just before he launched the shot.

2004-05 (Junior)

?   One of the most difficult match-ups in the Valley, Wright was named to the league’s All-Bench Team after averaging 10.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, despite playing just 18.5 minutes per game.

?   Led the Braves in scoring five times, including an 18-point performance in the his first-ever MVC Tournament game versus Indiana State.

?   Turned in his best performance in Bradley’s 74-68 victory versus Wichita State Feb. 12 at Carver Arena, finishing with 26 points, five rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals against the Shockers.

?   Triggered by his performance versus the Shockers, Wright averaged 17.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in his final six games of the season.

At Yuba College

?   After helping Yuba College to the Big Valley (East) conference championship as a freshman, Wright led 49ers to a program-best 24-7 record and the Elite Eight of the California Community College Men’s Basketball Association state tournament in 2004.

?   Earned first-team all-state honors as a sophomore after leading the California Northern Region in scoring at 24.8 points per game, while adding 9.9 rebounds and 2.8 blocked shots per contest.

?   Averaged 31 points and 14 rebounds in the final eight games of the 2003-04 season.

?   Boasting a 7-foot wingspan and a 44-inch vertical leap, Wright finished his junior college career with four triple-doubles, all involving points, rebounds and blocked shots.

?   Slammed home 64 dunks in 2003-04 and his single-game bests included nine dunks and 14 blocks.

?   In addition to his basketball accomplishments, Wright was a member of the Yuba College track and field team and set the school record in the triple jump with a distance of 48-feet 93/4-inches.

At Wheatland H.S.

?   A two-sport star in high school, Wright helped both his basketball and track teams to three straight conference championships.

?   Wright was named the Northern Section Most Valuable Player on the court as a senior.

?   His mother, Denise, coached his high school track team, which won the Big Valley League titles from 2000 to 2002.
