2005 at Bradley
? Played out his final season of eligibility while enrolled in graduate school at Bradley.
? Ranked among the league leaders in earned run average most of the season before settling for a final 3.39 ERA.
? Suffering from little run support, Goins posted a 5-6 record during his senior season.
? His five wins upped his career total to 19 victories, good for a tie for sixth on Bradley’s all-time list.
2004 at Bradley
? Won his second Zack Monroe Award as the team’s top pitcher, finishing with a 3.73 season earned run average.
? Earned the decision (5-6) in 11 of his 12 starts and led the staff with 70.0 innings pitched.
? Walked only 15 batters, an average of 1.93 per nine innings.
? Earned his first career shutout May 2 by blanking Evansville on six singles in the 7-inning road win.
2003 at Bradley
? Goins won his first two starts during the season’s first two weeks, but he made only three more appearances the rest of the year.
? After allowing three runs on nine hits in those 14 innings to start the season, Goins surrendered six runs on nine hits in the 5 1/3 innings that made up his last three appearances of the year -- one each in March, April and May.
2002 at Bradley
? Granted a medical redshirt after missing the final 28 games of the season with a shoulder injury.
? Despite his missed time, Goins earned the team’s Zack Monroe Award as the squad’s top pitcher.
? Went the distance in two of his six starts and led the staff with a 3.08 earned run average.
? Struck out a career-best 11 hitters in eight innings March 16 versus Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
2001 at Bradley
? Pitching almost exclusively out of the bullpen, Goins led the staff with 18 appearances and was the only Brave with a winning record (4-3).
? In his first career appearance, Goins held Vanderbilt without a hit for 3 1/3 innings to pick up the win Feb. 24.
? Also pitched four innings of one-hit ball for a win March 6 at Saint Louis.
High School
? Named the Most Valuable Pitcher his senior year, leading Lake Central (21-10) to the IHSAA semifinals.
? Went 6-3 with a save his final year at LCHS, with a 2.90 ERA and 59 strikeouts.
? He was an all-area pick his junior and senior years.
Personal
? Graduated in 2004 with a degree in health sciences.
? Parents are Dave and Roberta Goins.
? One of the baseball team’s two representatives on the Braves Council, Bradley’s student-athlete advisory board.
