2008 (Freshman): After only four plate appearances through the early non-conference season, Hendricks moved into a starting position behind the plate April 5 at Creighton ... Collected at least one hit in only five of his 26 games ... Enjoyed a breakout game April 23 versus Eastern Illinois by going 3-for-5 with a double, his first career home run and four runs batted in ... Added a 2-for-4 showing May 2 at April 3 at Illinois State with a double, his second homer and three runs batted in ... Tweaked his ankle the next day at Illinois State and got only four more at-bats the rest of the season.

 High School: A second-team all-conference pick, Hendricks hit .358 his senior year with a home run and a team-leading 10 doubles ... In addition to his work on the diamond, Hendricks played basketball for four years and played violin in the school’s orchestra. 

Personal: The son of Ron and Nancy Hendricks, Brett was born March 26, 1989 in California ... Ron Hendricks played baseball at the University of Nebraska from 1983-84 ... The oldest of three siblings, Brett’s younger brothers are Russell (18) and Jay (15) ... Majoring in communications (public relations), Hendricks earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in his first semester last fall.
