After making four pinch-hit appearances, Sexton earned his first career start in the second game of the May 1 doubleheader versus Calumet and went 1-for-3 ... In the opening game of the twinbill, Sexton entered as a pinch-hitter and wound up reaching safely in all three plate appearances on a hit, a walk and a hit by pitch.

A three-time all-conference performer, Sexton played three seasons for Mike Heisdorf at West Bend East (Wis.) High School ... Finished his senior season with a .377 average, seven homeruns and 24 runs batted in ... Hit an eye-popping .477 with eight homeruns, 16 doubles, 36 RBI's and a .879 slugging percentage during his junior year, earning all-district and all-area honors ... Belted 10 doubles, two homeruns and finished with a .424 average as a sophomore designated hitter ...
