Began his career as a walk-on at Central Michigan, where he redshirted the 2010-11 season, before scoring 28 points in 29 games as a redshirt freshman in 2011-12 ... Transferred to Odessa College for the 2012-13 season following a coaching change at CMU, then joined the Braves for his final two college seasons ... Posted three career double-doubles, including 13 points and 10 rebounds Nov. 12, 2013 against Central Michigan ... Top rebounding newcomer (5.6 rpg) in the Missouri Valley Conference as a junior in 2013-14 ... Ended his career making his final 32 free throw attempts for the fifth-longest streak in program history.

AT CENTRAL MICHIGAN AND ODESSA COLLEGE
Began his college career at Central Michigan, where he redshirted the 2010-11 season before averaging 1.0 point and 1.3 rebounds in 29 games (six starts) as a freshman in 2011-12 ... Following a coaching change, Barnes transferred to Odessa College, where he averaged 8.9 ppg and 6.0 rpg in 2012-13 while helping the Wranglers to a 25-8 record ... Shot 56.8 percent from the field, including 14-of-35 (.400) from 3-point range, and 75.4 percent from the free throw line in 2012-13.

Barnes was a late-comer to basketball as he was a standout youth hockey player and did not begin playing basketball at Waverly High School until his junior season ... Averaged eight points and seven rebounds per game as a senior to earn honorable mention all-conference accolades.
