? Selected in the 25th round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the New York Yankees.
? Hit .339 and led the Braves with a .455 on-base percentage.
? Set Bradley single-season (19) and career (33) career records for hit-by-pitches.
? A starter in all 50 games his senior season, Canada reached base safely via a hit, walk or hit-by-pitch in the season’s first 33 games and 35 games overall dating back to the final two games of the 2004 season.
2004 at Bradley
? Canada turned in one of the great turnaround seasons in Bradley Baseball history during his junior season.
? Despite being forced into full-time catching duty due to an injury to starter Dan Puente, Canada hit over .400 most of the season before finishing with a career-best .368 average.
? Enjoyed a team-best 17-game hitting streak from March 21 through April 17 and reached safely in 28 consecutive games through the first game of the May 2 doubleheader at Evansville.
2003 at Bradley
? Canada started 42 of the 50 games he played as a sophomore, primarily splitting time at first base and as the designated hitter.
? Hit safely in 12 of his last 14 games.
? Drove in a season-high three runs with a bases-clearing triple April 15 at Illinois, sparking Bradley’s 12-8 victory.
? Earned honorable mention Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete notice.
2002 at Bradley
? Went 2-for-3 with a double in his first career game March 2 at Western Kentucky.
? Singled in his first career Missouri Valley Conference at-bat March 22 at Southern Illinois.
? His first career home run, a two-run shot, proved to be the difference in the March 27 win at Northern Illinois.
? Added his second and third home runs at Wichita State and at Illinois State.
High School
? A second-team all-state pick as a senior, Canada set his school’s single-season home run record as a senior and finished second with 20 career homers.
? A three-time all-conference and All-Metro pick, Canada also was a two-time all-county selection.
? Batted .375 as a senior with seven home runs and 31 runs batted in while leading his team to a 24-6 record.
Personal
? A finance major, Canada graduated in May 2005 with a 3.90 cumulative grade point average.
? His twin brother, Brian, played third base at Miami-Ohio and was a second-team selection on the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District IV team.
? Parents are Phil and JoEllen Canada.
