Began the 2012 season as a reserve and then took over as the starting second baseman after Rob Elliot went down with a hamstring injury just before conference play began ... Responded by hitting .462 (6-13) with four stolen bases and four runs scored in the MVC-opening series at Southern Illinois and remained the starting second baseman the rest of his freshman season ... Led the Braves with a .320 average, 33 runs scored and 11 stolen bases to earn Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors ... In an ironic twist, Godinez suffered a trio of injuries in 2013, including a pair of hamstring injuries, that forced him to miss 38 games ... After receiving a medical hardship for the 2013 campaign, Godinez returned in 2014 to play 49 of Bradley's 51 games at second base ... Shared the team lead with 17 stolen bases and finished second with 38 runs scored ... Batting .297 on the 2015 season, Godinez ranks sixth nationally with a .500 on-base percentage, thanks to a school-record 44 walks and 14 HBP’s… Has reached base safely in 30 consecutive games and in 43 of his 45 games played this season… Tied the single-game school record by drawing four walks April 25 versus Evansville… Fifth in school history with 31 career HBP’s…Bradley's active leader with 10 career home runs and 42 career stolen bases.

 

High School

Godinez was a two-year varsity baseball letterman for head coach Raymond Del Fava at Lake Forest High School ... After winning his team's Gold Glove Award as a sophomore in 2009, Godinez earned all-conference notice as a junior last spring when he complimented his defensive work with a .325 batting average.
