AT BRADLEY
A second-year transfer from Hutcinson C.C., Gasso moved into the starting lineup midway through the 2016 season and hit .299 overall … Finished second on the team with a .275 batting average in conference play … He also hit .429 (6-14) with a .500 on-base percentage in Bradley's four games in the 2016 MVC Baseball Championship … In four games against Wichita State in 2016, Gasso was 9-for-14 (.643) with two doubles, a walk and two sacrifice bunts.
 
AT NORMAN NORTH H.S.
A four-year varsity letterman, Gasso earned all-state recognition as a senior, when he helped the Timberwolves to a state tournament runner-up finish … Also played football for three years, earning all-conference and all-district honors during the football team’s state playoffs runner-up season.

PERSONAL
The son of Jim and Patty Gasso, DJ was born Jan. 6, 1995 in Norman, OK … Patty Gasso is the University of Oklahoma softball head coach … Both parents were student-athletes at Long Beach State, where Jim played football and Patty played softball … Older brother, JT, played college baseball and now serves as the hitting coach for the Oklahoma softball team.
