2009 (Senior):  Enjoyed a remarkable turnaround at the plate in his second year as a Brave, jumping his batting average from .215 in 2008 to .324 in his senior season ... One of two Braves to start all 48 games, 45 at shortstop ... Led the team with 31 runs batted in ... Drove in five runs and scored four times in a 3-for-6 performance Apri 22 at Eastern Illinois ... Batted .472 (17-36) during his career-best 10-game hitting streak from April 4 versus North Dakota State through April 17 against Evansville ... Committed only four errors in Bradley's final 28 games.

 
2008 MVC Honor Roll

2008 (Junior):  Took over as the regular starting shortstop ... Dislocated the pinky finger on this throwing hand in The Valley opener at Evansville and played the remainder of the season with his finger bandaged ... After coming out of that game at Evansville March 21 due to the injury, he came right back and went 5-for-10 with four runs scored in the final two games versus the Purple Aces ... Although he hit just .219, Fitzgerald finished the season fourth on the team with 23 runs batted in ... Shared the team lead with three sacrifice flies and was second with seven sacrifice bunts.

 

At Fort Scott (Kan.) C.C.:  Fitzgerald was named the 2007 second-team all-conference shortstop in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Eastern Division.

 

High School:  A three-sport star in high school, Fitzgerald also played both basketball and soccer.

 

Personal:  The son of Kyle and Brenda Fitzgerald, Tommy was born Oct. 21, 1986 in Overland Park, Kan. ... Majoring in political science, Fitzgerald earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during his first semester on The Hilltop in the fall.
